Our Engineering and Technology Programme is designed to challenge and enrich, establishing you alongside some of the leading engineers in the space industry – and includes the offer of a permanent job with Inmarsat on its successful completion. You will gain invaluable experience and be given the opportunity to contribute to real satellite engineering programmes.

Our Commercial Sales Executive Programme is designed to grow sales professionals who will build new business opportunities for Inmarsat – the programme includes a robust two year training programme and the offer of a permanent job with Inmarsat on its successful completion.

Details

The Inmarsat Engineering and Technology Programme offers regular rotations, tailored where possible to your strengths and interests. You will have the chance to work in some of our specialised teams, such as:

Space system development

System architecture and strategy

Service and network engineering

Spectrum optimisation

Cloud virtualisation

Satellite operations

The Sales Executive Programme will provide insight into:

Research based initiatives

Appointment setting

Telephone based selling

Field based sales

Territory management

Account and business development

Rotations are conducted on a regular basis. To ensure you are continuously supported throughout the programme, you will be assigned a mentor outside of line management.

This role will be mainly based in London, but there may be opportunities to work in one of our international engineering offices, based in Europe or the USA.

After the two year rotation period, you will move into a permanent position that suits your continual development. We offer a highly competitive salary plus strong employee benefits.

A Minimum 2:1 undergraduate degree (or equivalent) in a relevant subject is required to apply to our programmes.

Engineering degrees are highly desired for our Engineering and Technology Programme e.g. Computer Science, Engineering (Aeronautical, Electrical or Mechanical), Physics, Mathematics or Technology. What is IHG Future Leaders – Europe?

IHG Future Leaders – Europe is a 2-year programme for hospitality graduates, which can pick one of 6 specialisations:

Operations – F&B: the ambition is for graduates completing the 2-year programme to become Head of F&B Departments or General Managers within 5 years,

Operations – Rooms Division: the ambition is for graduates completing the 2-year programme to become Head of Rooms or General Managers within 5 years,

Revenue Management: training the Revenue Managers and Area Revenue Managers of tomorrow in a best-in-class organisation,

Finance: discover the varied jobs Finance entails and become the next Assistant Head of Department or Head of Department at the end of the programme.

Corporate – Distribution & Commercial Marketing: form the future managers of the team managing our guest-facing channels and commercial activities (eCommerce, loyalty marketing, commercial campaigns, performance marketing, social, mobile & programmatic media, voice, channels education… etc.)

Corporate – Europe Operations Support: A full on specialty track throughout the various departments of our Operations team in Denham, from operations consultant to F&B.

Regardless of your specialty, you will start with a week of induction in IHG’s global headquarters in Denham, next to London, UK. You will then go to the hotel matched to your learning profile, and start discovering the team.

What are the key dates for the programme?

The recruitment for the programme starts in December/January each year. The successful graduates start in September of the same year, regardless of the specialty chosen.

What are the requirements for the IHG Future Leaders – Europe programme?

Bachelor’s degree in hospitality or equivalent

1 year experience in the hospitality industry (hotel, restaurant, bar…)

European Union or Schengen area passport holder

Fluent English and fluent European/Schengen area language

Fiery passion for hospitality

Leadership skills

Excellent interpersonal skills

What is the application process like?

First round interview (either by phone or face-to-face during campus visits)

How many graduates are you taking every year?

We take a maximum of 20 graduates every year, across the 6 specialities. We want to make sure we can provide you with the tailored experience that we believe will help you to be the best you can be.

What kind of training will I receive?

Traning and development is n integral part of your experience. You will benefit from both on-the-job trainings specific to your speciality, as well as our Accelerated Leadership Development Programme (ALDP), in different modules, to help you grow at the fastest possible pace in areas such as leadership fundamentals, team building, effective teams, coaching, win support for your ideas… etc.

Courses in Personal Branding, Networking and Career Planning are also a must, and you will be personally followed by a mentor and the head of the programme to make sure you get the most out of your experience.
