Essential Information for Graduates in Europe

Our European Programme officially starts in September, although you may have the opportunity to settle into your first placement during the summer months.

To qualify for our application process you should have a predicted minimum 2:1 degree classification or equivalent experience in Chemistry, Biochemistry or Chemical, Process or Mechanical Engineering fields.

You will need to be fluent in English and ideally have at least one other European language (French, Spanish or Dutch are preferred). You must have a willingness to rotate around mainland Europe and if necessary learn another language.

Application Process

We have a two stage application process that involves an application form, and then if you are successful after this, an invite to our two day assessment centre in the UK.

After the assessment event, you will hear from us within two weeks on whether you are successful or not and we will be happy to provide you with detailed feedback if you so choose.

Benefits:

Starting salary of the equivalent to £24,840.00 for the Graduate and Technical Development Programmes and £28,560.00 for the Engineering Development Programme.

Annual pay reviews for the first three years of employment

We have an excellent opportunity for you to join our 2019 European Graduate Intake. Our Technical Development Programme, aimed at candidates with a chemistry, biochemistry or life sciences degree, is a rotational scheme made up of three, nine month placements. These may be based in the UK or at one of our European site locations. This programme is designed for scientists who want to gain exposure to the wider technical business. Primarily working in a laboratory environment, you will work with different technical teams across a variety of market sectors or functions within the business such as Quality. During the programme, you will receive on-the-job training and attend a five module residential training programme which focuses on developing your personal and business skills. This, together with a supportive mentoring scheme, buddy system and regular progress reviews with your manager, will ensure you have the opportunity to develop your knowledge, skills and experience which will help you on your way to achieving your career aspirations.

• You must demonstrate a good level of self-awareness; capable of identifying your strengths and areas for further development, as well as seeing the value in giving and receiving feedback for yourself and others

• You will have a 2:1 degree or above within a Chemistry, Biochemistry or Life Sciences discipline achieved within the last 5 years

• You must have good English language skills; both written and verbal

• As this is a rotational scheme, you must be willing to relocate for your placements both in the UK or Europe

Desirables:

• European language skills; in particular French, Spanish, Italian, Dutch and German

• Previous work experience, chemical industry experience is advantageous

Croda offer a competitive graduate benefits package. This incorporates a starting salary of approximately £24,850, a defined benefit pension scheme, 25 days paid holiday plus bank holidays, access to share incentive plans plus a £3,000 relocation package per placement.

You will manage projects and be expected to contribute and take responsibility for project delivery from the outset. You will gain exposure to different plant equipment and processes at a number of our manufacturing sites over the course of the scheme. During the programme, you will receive on-the-job training and attend a five module residential training programme which focuses on developing your personal and business skills.
