Our two-year graduate programme, currently on offer in the UK only, is designed to give University graduates the opportunity to fast track their knowledge while gaining experience from internal mentors and business leaders with a variety of tailored placements. The first year is rotational and designed to give graduates an understanding of key functions within BTG and a well-rounded understanding of the business. The focus for the second year is determined by what the graduate discovers about the business in year one, and on a chosen project in one business area.
Our talent pipeline is just as important to us as our R&D pipeline; our people are crucial to ensuring we can meet the ongoing needs of our business. This is a two-year programme designed to give graduates the opportunity to fast-track their knowledge while gaining experience from internal mentors and business leaders.
Here’s what we are looking for…
Highly motivated people who are educated to a degree level in Life Science or Engineering
Excellent interpersonal and problem solving skills
Exceptional verbal and written communications
Ability to oversee multiple projects, deal with changing priorities and work to deadline
A “can do” attitude and positive approach
The first 12 months is a rotation year designed to give graduates an understanding of three key functions within BTG, along with a well-rounded understanding of the business. For example, a graduate might complete a 4-month rotation slot around Operations / Research & Development / Commercial. During this time, graduates will experience our exciting business first-hand and contribute to significant work objectives. Each graduate is assigned to an experienced Manager who will be responsible for supporting development and performance.
The focus of the second year is determined by what the graduate discovers about the business in year one. It is at this point that we review the progress of each graduate and a decision is made on what part of the business is the best fit. For example, the graduate may join R&D for the next year where they would take ownership of a project and be managed by a key stakeholder in that area of the business.
For the entire journey, a mentor will provide guidance and help the graduate pick a business case project in year two. At the end of the 2-year programme, and depending on open vacancies, opportunities and performance, graduates may be considered for permanent roles.
“The BTG Graduate Programme gives successful candidates the opportunity to develop in maturity by working with a mixture of people with different backgrounds. Graduates will be exposed to a variety of projects across different functions, which will deepen their understanding of patients, product portfolios, customers, supply chain, logistics, and project management. During the placement there may also be a chance to travel to some of our global sites and learn more about our distinctive culture.”
